New Act! Marketing Automation Features!

Dec 4, 2020 | General

Act! continues to roll out new features and functionality for it’s Act! Marketing Automation (AMA) product. Because AMA isn’t tied to any specific version of Act! CRM (v21, v22, etc.), they can update the program quickly at any time.  Here are a few brand new features!

Multiple Address Options

Some companies have various offices.  Maybe a headquarters, then several branch or satellite offices. Others might have sister companies or divisions that have different addresses.  In the past, AMA only allowed you to enter one address.  At popular demand, Act! has now added the option to have multiple address blocks to choose from.  On top of this, you can also format your address with line breaks!

So how do I do this?

It’s simple.  Here are a few instructions:

  • Go into Act! Marketing Automation
  • Section “Admin” (top right)
  • From the dropdown at top, select “Account – Addresses”
  • Select “Go”
  • Select “Actions” (top right)
  • Select “Add Addresses”
  • Add your primary address with the formatting line breaks you prefer or add additional secondary addresses
  • When you are in an email template, there is now a new option to select which address to use for that email!

Use Captcha Option for Landing Page Forms & Surveys

This feature has been around for a few months now, but it is so important, I wanted to highlight it again.  If anyone isn’t familiar, Landing Pages are basically your forms and surveys.  Adding a Captcha to your form stops those annoying internet bots from spamming your form and sending you bogus entries.

So how do I do this?

First you need to make a form.  If you’re brand new to landing pages or  need help learning about creating landing pages, you can access Act!’s video library or you can attend our new Act! Skill Builder Webinar topic covering Landing Pages.  If this class currently isn’t on our schedule contact us and we can sell you the recording of the previous class!

Ok, so now you have a landing page built.  Now do this:

  • In your Landing Page Campaign, click on the form step
  • Select “Edit Form”
  • Select “Actions” (top right)
  • Select “Captcha”
  • Select “Enable Captcha for this page”
  • Press Save
  • If you exit back to preview your form, you will now see a code the user will need to fill out in order to submit the form to prove they aren’t a bot!

QR Codes for Landing Page Forms & Surveys

Add quick links to your landing page forms with QR Codes.  Not familiar with QR codes? They are basically small box shaped pictures that can be quickly scanned.  Most commonly, the result of a bar code scan will send the user to a website or other marketing material.  In this case, you can generate a QR code to direct people to your Act! Marketing Automation landing page form!

Viewers will normally scan the QR code on their mobile devices.  For iOS and Android, they can simply open their phone’s camera, point it at the QR Code image and it will automatically direct them to the website.

So how do I do this?

Like mentioned above, first you need to make a form.

  • Open your Landing Page Campaign
  • Select “Actions” (top right)
  • Select “QR Code”
  • Save a picture of the displayed QR Code
  • Use that picture in any marketing materials to give a quick link for people to get quick access to a landing page!
